I didn’t get the relief that I expected over the weekend, plus I had some extra low back pain versus just the usual leg/butt/sciatica pain. Perhaps it means nothing. Hey, the bladder seems okay this weekend though, so there’s that. No Depends for at least a little while. I was debating whether or not to have the third injection, but I decided what the heck, may as well. At least that way I’ll have given the injections every opportunity to help before the doctors end up talking surgery again. Mostly, I’m just tired. Tired of feeling lousy. I’m putting this plan out in public, so someone will make me do it, if I don’t do it myself. I can’t write a lot tonight because I unthinkingly agreed when the doctor’s office wanted to change my appointment from 3:30p next Monday to 9:30a tomorrow. What was I thinking? It’s all the way across town, during a time when people are probably on the freeway going to work. Ick, traffic. Anyway, it’s just another tedious consultation with another pain management specialist. I’ll think he’ll be my third of just that type of doctor. Not long after I’d left my message with Dr. FancyPants’ office, I received a call back. The woman (let’s call her Magic) said, “But you were supposed to be scheduled for a selective nerve root block on December 2. I told Trudy (that’s what I’ll be calling her now) that you needed to have it done and she said it had been scheduled for 12/2.” I told Magic that I had my appointment with Dr. $250’s office on 11/30 and Trudy told me she’d call me on 12/1, after she’d talked to my insurance company.
